A companion catalogue devoted to the kris, printed on demand.
Krises of Moroland is a picture book of krises and related artefacts from the Philippines and the islands that traded with them, drawn from private collections. It is the first volume of the Moroland Museum Historical Publications, a series planned to cover swords, daggers, shields, armour, bows and arrows. Each item is shown in full-colour photographs with a short note on its size, materials and where it was found. The publisher says many of the pieces have never been seen in public outside their owners' hands.
Its author, Bruce Jenkins, directs the Moroland Museum and is the series' author, publisher and main photographer. He says he made the books to document the museum's archives, and that he has visited the Philippines many times to see family and gather information. The 64-page book was printed on demand through CreateSpace on September 4, 2015.
