No longer sold new: look for it in a library, or for a used copy.
8 case stories of good local governance from towns and provinces of the ARMM. It aims to counter the region's image as a place of failed government.
This book tells 8 stories of good local governance from the ARMM. Its subtitle, Emerging Good Local Governance in a Misunderstood Land, sets it against the region's image of violence and failed government. It was published in Quezon City by the Galing Pook Foundation, which since 1993 has recognised innovation and good practice in Philippine local government.
From 2010 the foundation also ran a separate Galing Pook Awards in ARMM, with the regional government and the Local Government Academy of the Department of the Interior and Local Government; its first round was funded by USAID through The Asia Foundation.
