Accounts from displaced children of Pikit and Carmen in Cotabato and Pagalungan in Maguindanao who lived through the 2000 and 2003 wars between the army and the MILF. It looks at how they coped and what in their families and communities helped them.
This 137-page study by Eddie Quitoriano and Theofeliz Marie Francisco presents the views of displaced children from Pikit and Carmen in Cotabato and Pagalungan in Maguindanao. These children lived through the wars of 2000 and 2003 between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Save the Children UK's Philippines programme published it in 2004.
The study looks at how the children coped, and at what in their families and communities shaped how they responded. The research was done at a time when programmes built on children's rights were still unfamiliar to most government and civil society groups in the region.
