A report on the first 2 years of the Bishops-Ulama Forum, which brought Catholic bishops and Muslim religious leaders together after the 1996 peace agreement. It records their dialogues and joint work for Muslim–Christian peace.
This is a report from the Bishops-Ulama Forum. The forum was launched in Cebu City in November 1996 and brought together Catholic bishops and Muslim religious leaders from across Mindanao. Published in 1998, the report covers the forum's first 2 years, with its dialogues and joint work for peace between Muslims and Christians.
The forum held that the Mindanao conflict should not be seen as a religious war, and ran workshops on a culture of peace in local communities. From 1998 it also sponsored a yearly Mindanao Week of Peace.
