A Vision of Peace for Mindanao
Pressia Arifin-Cabo, Joel Dizon and Khomenie Mantawel
No longer sold new: look for it in a library, or for a used copy.
A photo-documentary, with photographs by Bobby Timonera, in which key actors in the Mindanao conflict each describe their vision of peace. It also shows everyday rural life in North Cotabato and Maguindanao during an uneasy ceasefire, in English and Maguindanaon.
This photo-documentary brings together people with key roles in the Mindanao conflict. Each one gives their own vision of peace, or Dar-ul Salam.
Alongside these accounts are pictures of daily life in the villages of North Cotabato and Maguindanao during a ceasefire. The library description calls that time unstable but full of hope, after a civil conflict then 41 years old. Pressia Arifin-Cabo, Joel Dizon and Khomenie Mantawel wrote the text, in English and Maguindanaon, and Bobby Timonera took the photographs. The Kadtuntaya Foundation published the 79-page book in 2008.
